Sustainable Packaging Using Foamed Materials

We are exploring sustainable packaging solutions for home appliances and are specifically interested in innovations based on foamed materials. These materials should offer promising alternatives to conventional plastics and foams, aligning with our commitment to reduce environmental impact across the product lifecycle.

We are seeking packaging materials that provide adequate protection during transportation and handling, while having a mature recycling stream or being biodegradable in all the environmentals. The ideal solution should demonstrate mechanical strength, thermal stability, and cushioning performance comparable to traditional materials, without compromising on sustainability. We are particularly interested in scalable, cost-effective solutions that can be integrated into our existing packaging workflows and meet regulatory and safety standards for consumer products.

Advanced Functional Coatings

"We are seeking innovative functional coating solutions that can enhance the performance and durability of components used in home appliances.
As an example, we are looking for coatings that combine high-temperature resistance and easy-to-clean surfaces, and anti-stick properties into a single, robust solution. Compatibility with common appliance materials (e.g., stainless steel, aluminum, glass and plastics), scalability for industrial application, and compliance with safety and environmental standards are essential. We are willing to explore also coatings with other functional purposes. "

"When looking for new designs the proposed coating has to perform at least the same or better to what we have already in production, so it must fulfill our internal specifications.
When evaluating Easy to Clean properties, the new proposal has to fulfill our internal specification Other properties (anti-stick, anticondensation) will be evaluated in laboratory, and the results will be compared with similar materials that we already have in production.
Chemical compliance: Each new coating will be analysed in order to define chemical composition and to check it is in compliance with our RML technical guideline."

Lab Digitalization

We are seeking a digital solution to streamline data management and integration across our Materials Hub laboratories. Our team operates a wide array of specialized testing equipment, each might produce data in unique formats, which are currently stored on internal servers. This fragmented data environment hinders efficient analysis, collaboration, and knowledge sharing across R&D and product development teams. We are looking for a system that can automatically collect, standardize, and centralize data from diverse instruments—enabling seamless access, traceability, and cross-functional use.

The ideal solution should support advanced analytics, be compatible with existing lab infrastructure, and enhance our ability to accelerate material innovation for next-generation home appliances.

Sustainable and Low-cost Enameling Replacements

We are looking for sustainable and/or cost effective innovations to replace enameling process used in the production of home appliances, particularly for components like oven cavities and cooktops. The goal is to reduce environmental impact by lowering energy consumption, minimizing hazardous emissions, and using eco-friendly materials without compromising on enamel performance such as durability, heat resistance, and aesthetic quality. We are especially interested in solutions that can be scaled for industrial use and integrated into existing production lines while supporting circular economy principles.

We're looking for solutions that demonstrate following qualities and certifications:
1. Food contact
2. High Heat Resistance (max until 350°C, superior performances are nice to have) without cracking, blistering, or discoloration
3. Thermal Shock Resistance: it should tolerate sudden temperature changes without cracking
4. Strong Adhesion to steel substrates, forming a durable and protective layer that doesn’t peel or flake
5. Smooth, Non-Porous Surface to Facilitate easy cleaning and prevents food residue buildup
6. Chemical Resistance to acids (e.g., citric acid, ketchup) and cleaning agents without degrading
7. Mechanical Durability: should resist scratching, chipping, and wear from utensils and cookware and it should last over the lifetime of the appliance
8. Sustainability
9. Aesthetical appearance: provides a glossy, uniform finish that enhances the visual quality of the oven interior. Black/dark colour preferred
10. Cost efficient
